Celebrating the transformative conservation work at Willesden Cemetery

Hester Abrams, project leader, joined Ben Newman from Cliveden Conservation to share the stories of the graves that have been conserved and the people beneath them.

Over 60 people joined Hester Abrams and Ben Newman on Thursday night to see the breathtaking work that has been done to conserve some of Willesden Cemetery’s most unusual and notable graves. Ben shared some of the specialist techniques that he used to preserve the graves for the future and Hester shared the fascinating stories that are behind these graves, from a pioneering protester to an artistic socialite.
