Rosalind Franklin— podcast demonstrates her discoveries are more relevant than ever

Hester Abrams, project leader, joined the Economist’s Babbage podcast to discuss Rosalind Franklin’s continuing impact.

Hester was interviewed by the Economist for a centenary review of the lasting contribution to science of Rosalind Franklin, who is buried at Willesden Jewish Cemetery. The 27-minute podcast revises the commonly held view of her as a woman overlooked for a Nobel prize in favour of men, and establishes her as a true pioneer in virus research.
