As part of the National Cemeteries Week, we invite you to visit Willesden Jewish Cemetery to explore our beautiful grounds.
Designed as a ‘Garden Cemetery’ in 1873, Willesden Jewish Cemetery offers a unique blend of heritage and nature.
Join us for the guided walk on 11 June to discover the captivating fusion of historic legacy and flourishing nature, revealed by our knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteer guides.
Willesden Jewish Cemetery is not just a resting place for the departed; it is a haven for nature enthusiasts and wildlife lovers. Amidst the historic ambiance, discover the thriving ecosystem that has found a sanctuary within this urban oasis. From the rustling leaves of ancient trees to the vibrant flora that graces the surroundings, every step taken reveals the coexistence of nature and history.
This event is in conjunction with the National Federation of Cemetery Friends (https://www.cemeteryfriends.com/ncw) and Caring for God’s Acre (https://www.caringforgodsacre.org.uk/)
A limited amount of parking is available on site.
Wheelchairs can be provided upon request.
No dogs, with the exception of guide dogs.
The walk begins promptly at the Heritage Centre (the first building by the entrance) and lasts approximately 75 minutes. We encourage visitors to allow extra time before or after the walk to explore the Heritage Centre exhibition and the historic funerary buildings at their own pace.
Our guided walks are £10 to join, with concessions for Seniors and Students of £8. Charging for Guided Walks allow us to keep doing what we do - sustaining the new House of Life visitor experience, and making the cemetery’s heritage and stories accessible to people from all backgrounds.
